The lower beat (Gordon) runs from the Altnaglander Burn which runs through the picnic site. Fishing on the right bank only to the confluance with the River Livet (1.9 miles).

WE HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 4 RODS PER BEAT 2 AT EACH END, CHANGING OVER BETWEEN 1PM AND 2PM
We only have a 20 week season and because of decreasing Angler numbers, we now have no one fishing in the 1st
three weeks of May, or in a three week period in August and the 1st week of September.
The Salmon in May tend to run to the top of the Avon in early season, but they do stop to rest in various Pools on
the way, where these silver, fresh run fish can be caught. In June, July, August and September the Salmon are still making their way upstream, and from May, Sea Trout are in the beats and can be caught on fly in the white water in daylight and also at night in the Pools.
